Madrid & Granada — Spain Video Series

How much do we love Spain? Let’s just say we could easily move there tomorrow. On one hand, my mom lived in Galicia years before I was born, and made sure we knew how special this place was. She did it through her cooking of Spanish recipes, her retelling of travel adventures and her memories of so many special people. The love for Spain was already ingrained in me even before I got to visit.

But then, Nabol and I visited for the first time about 9+ years ago — and truly fell in love. Coming from an island where Spain’s influence is omnipresent, you immediately feel the familiar embrace from the Motherland when you arrive. People’s accent wasn’t quite ours, but their body language was. The food —and how its eaten in communion with others — felt very comforting to us. Their architecture is where our country got its style. It was like meeting a parent you never got to meet growing up. We were hungry with questions and couldn’t wait to explore it all.

Two cities particularly stole our hearts: Granada and Madrid. The first one for its fascinating Moorish influence and breathtaking vistas. And the second one, because is where we feel most at home. While we still have much to discover in both cities, we wanted to share some of our experiences, favorite places and tips with all of you. Hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
